Dear Support Team,
I am writing to report an issue with my Meteor75 Pro Walksnail HD Brushless Whoop Quadcopter, which I purchased from your store on 10/07/2024 [#695117]. Unfortunately, I am experiencing several problems that have rendered the drone unusable. Specifically, three of the Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs) are not functioning, which prevents the motors from operating correctly. Additionally, the Flight Controller (FC) is not entering Device Firmware Update (DFU) mode properly, as I receive an “unrecognized device” notification from Windows when attempting to do so. I have tried basic troubleshooting steps, but the issues persist. I bought this drone as a replacement for my SUB250 1S drone, which also had an ESC failure, and I am currently waiting for a new FC for that model. Given that the Meteor75 Pro Walksnail HD Brushless Whoop Quadcopter is still under warranty, I would appreciate your assistance in either repairing or replacing it. Please let me know the next steps required to resolve this matter.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.
@UMT_Support
The voltage and current reading are also way off, about 9V and 20 amps when idle.
Could you add some photos, and ideally a video showing the issue so we can help some more.
Can you also let me know what troubleshooting you have done so far.
Can you also please answer these questions:
- When the the issue first occur
- Have you tried to reflash the firmware, and if so did you load the BetaFPV CLI? Did you confirm they were both for the same version of Betaflight?
- If you think the issue could be to do with the ESC, can you connect them up to Blheli to check if you can read all 4? If so what was the result.
Also just a heads up, this general help desction is not monitored via @UMT_Support directly, so next time its best if you create a support request via this link - Returns - Unmanned Tech Shop
The issue occured right out of the box, I plugged in the supplied battery after fully charging it with the supplied charger. I then binded my radio and then updated and bound the VTX. I then tried to arm and “RPM FILTER” was displayed in the OSD. I then connected the FC to my PC and with betaflight configurator running I took these screenshots with no battery plugged in.
After plugging in the battery I did the same.
As shown in the screenshot above, 3 of the ESC’s don’t work.
I then closed betaflight and ran blheli configurator and after reading the setup I got…
Could you explain what you mean by this? Do you mean you updated the VTX, or the flight controller? If its the flight controller, after updating did you load the settings for the Meteor75 Pro?
and also this guide on how to load CLI after flashing, as this is very important to ensure the drone will work properly.
This is almost certainly caused by a bad config, so please can you make sure to flash the correct firmware (BF 4.4 is the latest provided by BetaFPV), however I will ask them if they have a more up-to-date version:
CLI for Meteor75 Pro – BETAFPV Support Center
For the vtx (walksnail 1s), I updated it to the latest version by copying the update file and holding the bind button for 8s. It updated successfully and then I bound my goggles to it to receive the video signal. I will now use the [BF411RX 4.2.11_M75 Pro_A_Frsky V3.0_TBS_20230209.txt] CLI to hopefully fix these issues.
It did have some errors when writting the new CLI however they appear to be just where the supplied betaflight (4.4) is newer than the one that is from the CLI from their website (4.2.11). However the drone now flies! And it can see it’s blackbox flash now. I will do more testing as the current meter is way off (about 30A idle) and it lowers to 27A when flying but the voltage monitoring does appear to be correct
I found " CLI for Meteor75 Pro (HD Digital VTX)" and have flashed correct hex file. Everything is appears to be okay apart from the current reading which is the same as the previous update
