Broken/Bent motor pins on FC SMD connector

Order Number: [ORDER #696451]
Product Name: T Motor F7 Pro Full Function Fc
Brand: T-Motor
I purchased a T-Motor F7 Pro FC off you guys back at the end of August (29th). I put it into my build and have been completely flummoxed as to why the build simply will not work… I’ve had repeated issues with 2 new replacements ESC’s and replacement motors to try and diagnose the issue before finally conceding and purchasing a new FC, under the impression that that is the only part left to be replaced and therefore must be faulty in some way… I have just reordered the same FC from you guys and thought I may as well study the state of the current one to see if I was missing something glaring…

Turns out that pins 14-8 on the FC SMD connection were completely bent out of place and needed bending back.

The build does not work as intended. I can only ever get 2 motors 2 spin. If I swap round the motor wire harness connections, the other 2 motors become the 2 which spin.

All of the above leaves me feeling as thought the FC is faulty and would need replacing for the build to work. As stated before, I have just repurchased the same item from you guys just now but wondered if there was any sort of a discussion that could be had in regards to the item being faulty.

I have taken photos of the issue which I’m happy to send if helpful. Any support in regards to what might be best would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you kindly,

Tom
Without sounding dramatic, almost every single community based suggestion that has been handed my way has been attempted to troubleshoot the issue.

I had been told multiple times to check for bends on the pins on the ESC and simply never even thought to do so on the FC but having seen the state of the pins I’m pretty well confident that that is the route cause of the issue here.

All firmware flashing, motor protocol changes, hardware replacements, re-soldering and literally pretty much any single other potential remedy has been trouble shot in order to rectify the issue. (Honestly I’ve genuinely been at it for 4 days straight pretty much :sob:)

Hi Tom,

Unfortunately a warranty case may be difficult if the drone was powered on with bent pins - while the pins are only motor signals, there’s no telling what occurs electronically both in the on-board circuitry and MCU’s for both the ESC and FC when power is run through the board with components connected that should not otherwise be connected. Bent pins are physical damage and would likely be treated as such by the manufacturer, whom we utilise to facilitate the RMA / Warranty claim process.

May I ask if you can provide an image of the ESC to FC harness you’re using? Once I have that (despite the above) I’d be happy to discuss with T-Motor to see if there’s any path forwards available here – I don’t want to put up barriers without first checking, at least!

Best regards,

Cameron

Hey Cameron!

Fully appreciate all of that and really appreciate the honest response!

Attached are photos of the harness. I have managed to get the drone fully operational by remapping the motor pins through BF configuration, remapping motor pins 1-4 to 5-8 and the drone seems fully functional now.

More than happy to provide any other information if helpful or necessar!

Thanks

Tom
