Researchers at ETH Zurich released their Dronet algorithm a while ago that essentialy uses AI to avoid obstacles and fly a drone. In itself it was quite interesting, but now they have taken it a step further and done this all onboard a crazflie quadcopter (that weighs just 27g)
All this is running on an ultra low power development board called GAP8. So far I have not seen any videos of how well it actualy works, but I expect it will be similar to the original dronet algorithm, just on a smaller scale.
