DJI O4 Air Unit: Your Burning Questions Answered (And Some You Didn't Even Think to Ask)

This is a companion topic for our recent blog post on blog.unmanned.tech

The DJI O4 Air Unit is here, and it’s ignited quite the chatter among the FPV crowd. We’ve tackled a slew of burning questions, particularly around the pros and cons of the N3 versus G3 goggles. In short, if you fancy a bit of racing, the G3’s lower latency (24ms vs. 31ms) is rather appealing, though you might prefer the less pricey N3 if your flying style is more leisurely.

Interestingly, both goggles promise the same maximum range of 13 kilometres, which should bring a smile to those who prefer long-distance flying over split-second reactions. Just bear in mind, the N3 is chunkier and lacks some of the sleek features of its pricier counterpart, making it a bit of an odd fit for glasses wearers—quite literally.

And for those pondering whether to upgrade from older models like the G2 or Integra, it’s all about need versus budget. If you’re not clocking up the laps at breakneck speeds, sticking with what you have is perfectly reasonable. Meanwhile, racing mode can drop latency to as low as 15ms, but don’t expect it to outpace the best analogue systems just yet.

Fancy delving deeper? There’s a video that unpicks all these points and more. You might find it mildly enlightening.
