The latest offering from ItsFPV, the Era O4 frame, has stirred up quite the buzz in the FPV community. Ian from MadsRC takes us through a rather enlightening unboxing and assembly session, showcasing a reworked design with a new front cage and adapted carbon fibre plates tailored specifically for the DJI O4 Pro. For those wondering, upgrading existing Era frames isn’t on the cards, as the changes are more substantial than just a simple cage swap.
Unboxing reveals a rather posh kit complete with everything you need—new nylon parts, wiring protectors, and even a sticky battery pad. Not to mention, the innovative use of Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printing for the front end adds a bit of flair and robustness while saving on production costs. Who knew drones could be so avant-garde?
Assembling this beauty requires a bit of finesse, especially when it comes to securing the camera before bolting everything down—because let’s be honest, nobody wants to be that person trying to squeeze a camera into a tight spot after it’s all buttoned up. Initial test flights suggest the frame handles well, although it’s not going to win any cinematic awards. That said, it can produce decent footage for those not aiming for Oscars.
Available for around £86 in the UK, the Era O4 is worth a gander for anyone looking to upgrade their FPV game. For further details, do check out the Its FPV website.
