Faulty PAVOPICO-O3-TBS quadcopter

Order Number: UT-695423-WH/OUT/41083
Product Name: B-Pavopico-O3-Tbs
Brand: BetaFPV
I’ve gotten the Pavo Pico with o3 unit and paired both together. Everything worked fine until when I went for a second go to show some friends and it sounded like one of the capacitors blew out
I’m unable to connect the battery which came with the product, into the drone to power up
I’ve put the usb cable to check the Esc in betaflight, it’s take power from the cable into laptop but not the battery I’ve also check the board and one of the resistors or capacitor is not there

Hi

Sorry to hear about that, I have passed this onto BetaFPV to get their feedback/suggestions and will update you as soon as we hear back from them!

Kind Regards

Hi

Would it be possible to send another photo of the other side of the board? Reason being is that it looks like it is the reverse polarity fuse on the flight controller, which would of been melted off due to incorrect power connection. But if you can send the photo I can double check with BetaFPV. But if this is the case, then its unlikely to be covered under warranty unfortunately.

Hi, just chasing up, we received your email about this, but to keep things organised if you can please reply to this email directly to avoid creating multiple threads for the same issue!

Could please send me a close up of the component that is damaged, as BetaFPV are asking for this, as they seem to think its a fuse due to incorrect power connection, but if its labeled as R001 as you said, then that is not a fuse, so I can show this to them to hopefully get a replacement authorised for you.

Hi thanks, my original email bounced back dude to too many pictures so I got confused with the email, here are the photos, it’s definitely the resistor

Thanks, I have passed this onto BetaFPV so will hopefully have a positive response for you on Monday

Kind Regards

Alex

Thank you. I appreciate your help.

Hi, I am very sorry about the delays with this, could you please send me a photo of the battery you are using along with the connected on the XT30 on the Pavo Pico, as I am trying to explain to BetaFPV that this was a pre built drone with the battery connector pre-soldered.

No worries I understand your doing what you can.

Please see attached photo.

Hi hope your well, I’ve sent over the photos, any updates?

Thank you

Hi

Just to update you on the current situation.

It seems that BetaFPV are refusing to offer any replacements as they are insistent that that component can only get hot and desolder as you have described if the unit was powered incorrectly. So based on this, I think the next step is to rather return the item back to us and we can either repair/replace it for you at our own expense. I will send through an email directly to you with RMA details.

This email will contain:

  1. Your RMA number

  2. A link to our RMA form

  3. Instructions for completing the return process

Please check your inbox (and spam folder) for this email. If you don’t receive it within the next hour, please let us know here.

Remember to complete the RMA form and initiate your return within 30 days. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in this thread

Kind Regards

Hi

One more thing, if you are happy to install the flight controller yourself, we can also send you a replacement flight controller directly (no need to return the drone), if this is something you are happy to install yourself.

Just let me know your preference!

Afternoon,

I will be very happy with installing the flight controller myself,

appreciate you spending your time to help do what you can to resolve this problem.

You guys are amazing.

Thank you.

Thank you, I have arranged for a replacement FC to be sent out to you now.

As for the faulty one, once you have replaced it, could you return the faulty one back to us so we can get it repaired if possible to recover some of our costs?

Kind Regards
