Flywoo FlyLens 85 HD O4 Pro Review: A Quad That Packs a Punch, But Watch Your Wallet!

This is a companion topic for our recent blog post on blog.unmanned.tech

The latest review of the Flywoo FlyLens 85 HD O4 Pro is in, and it’s quite the piece of kit for those who fancy themselves as drone aficionados—just make sure your wallet is feeling robust too. Nick Burns took a deep dive into its specs, noting the Goku F405 flight controller, Flywoo Robo 1003 motors, and a camera that’s rubber-mounted for a smooth ride. Weighing in at 87.8 grams, it’s a bit heftier than its predecessor, but then again, as many of us know, a few extra grams can sometimes be well worth it.

Design-wise, the drone boasts a sturdy carbon fibre frame and LED prop guards that would make any disco ball jealous. While it handles indoor flying without breaking a sweat, it does tend to be a bit loud—so perhaps not ideal for stealthy reconnaissance missions (or sneaking up on the dog). Outdoor performance is commendable, even in a brisk wind, though you might need to tinker with the camera angle for that perfect shot.

As for flight times, expect around five minutes with a 1000 mAh battery, dropping down to three minutes 50 seconds with a smaller 550 mAh. The included accessories and repair kit are a nice touch, although the battery holder system can be a bit fiddly—because who doesn’t enjoy a touch of frustration while trying to fly?

In conclusion, the Flywoo FlyLens 85 HD O4 Pro offers quality and performance that justify its price for serious hobbyists—unless you’re more interested in longer flight times than capturing cinematic masterpieces, in which case the non-pro version might be right up your alley.
