Information request about transponder Ping 1090i

Dear ,

My name is Giulia Varenna, and I am the Flight Operation Manager at Involve Space. I would like to request further information and advice regarding your transponders.

Our company operates unmanned stratospheric balloons, and to ensure safe operations at these altitudes, we require a transponder that allows aircraft to detect us from at least 100 km away. Additionally, if possible, we would like the signal to be visible from the ground to monitor its proper functioning.

I have seen that you offer the " uAvionix Ping1090i → Include ADS-B “In/Out”", and I would like to know if you believe this could be a suitable solution for our needs. Furthermore, is there a way to ensure that other aircraft can reliably detect us and that the signal can also be received from the ground for monitoring purposes?

UAVionics is probably the world leader in this sphere and they have a number of products which suite different user needs and craft.

Would you be able to give me some more specifics about the balloon operational envelop and the region in which you want to operate.

Are there any restrictions from a craft perspective? This is usually more of an issue for very small unmanned craft, so I don’t think this will be an issue in this instance, but I’d rather just check with you first.
