The TX16 S Transmitter has unfortunately developed a fault. We turn it on, the power lights come on and you can hear the speaker engage but the screen does not come on and the speaker doesn’t sound when it’s supposed to. I also have to disconnect the battery to turn off.
Nothing, doesn’t work

Hi Louisa good day,

I’m really sorry to hear you are battling with your radio, and those are really nice radios!

To be honest with you I’m not sure what to suggest, this could be the main control board or possibly the screen causing all the problems. I have already reached out to Radiomaster, sent them the details and your video and asked for assistance.

As soon as I hear back from them I will follow up with you.

Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused, but will try get to a resolution as quickly as possible.

How would you rate our customer service?

Regards,
David

Hi Louisa good day,

I have been speaking with RadioMaster regarding the issues you are having, they compiled the below list of recommendations:

You can try to fix it by:
1. First of all, please use Multimeter to measure the battery. Both 18650 batteries need a voltage higher than 3V to start normally. If it is lower than this voltage, they cannot start normally. You can also plug in any 2S lithium battery balance plug to power the remote control.

2, if the above method does not work, it may be EdgeTX software problem, at some Time node will accidentally cause RTC data disorder and can not be turned on, need to remove the button battery to reset the RTC(Real Time Clock) storage area, this problem will be released in EdgeTX2.10.2 version to be solved.
Please note that after removing the button battery, it needs to be placed for a minute or two, the remaining electricity on the motherboard will be empty, and then do not install the button battery, plug in the battery can be normal, and then install the button battery. Please note that the power supply battery must also be removed to truly reset the RTC storage area, if only the button battery is removed and the main power supply battery is plugged in, it cannot be restored.

3, you can use EdgeTX official tool Buddy to try to repair the remote control. Follow these steps:
When you use EdgeTX Buddy to update the firmware, the remote control must be turned off, you cannot power on, you can also remove the battery, the battery is not needed at all times, and you do not need to turn on, the USB will power the chip and put the MCU into DFU mode, and you can also remove the rear cover, remove the button battery from the motherboard, When there is no button battery and no power battery, plug in the USB port on the top of the remote control.
The first time you connect a computer in this way, you need to install the correct driver, otherwise EdgeTX Buddy will not recognize the STM32 chip.
Review this instruction and download the driver installer: https://edgetx.org/faq

Then follow these instructions to update the firmware:
https://edgetx.gitbook.io/edgetx-user-manual/edgetx-user-manual/installing-and-updating-edgetx/update-from-opentx-to-edg etx-1

EdgeTX Buddy online flash tools:

Please note that when updating the firmware, select the correct hardware name TX16S, if the firmware of other hardware is brushed, there will be no reaction.
