Order Number: 701539
Product Name: Speedybee F405 V4 60a Esc
Brand: SpeedyBee
I’ve soldered the esc to brand new Emax motors plugged it into the flight controller attached a battery. No beeps at all. So I put the motors on a different esc and they beeped and worked as it should. Flight controller on the stack still gets power when I plug the battery in but no beeps from the motors.
I’ve checked the motors on a different esc and worked perfect, so I put them back on the speedybee esc and still nothing. Checked all the soldering nothing touching or shorting out.
Hi Dylan good day,
I am sorry to hear you are struggling with your ESC.
Is this the first ESC you have soldered together?
I have already sent through the description and photos to Speedybee to give us some feedback on it.
As soon as I hear back from them I will be sure to let you know.
How would you rate our customer service?

David

I’ve soldered quite a few esc’s before this is my second speedy bee stack.
Hi Dylan good morning,
We received the following feedback from SpeedyBee:
Additionally, could you please provide photos of both the front and back sides of the ESC and let us know this order purchase date?
If possible, a video showing the ESC without the self-check tone would also be helpful.
If the video exceeds the file size limit for sending, we kindly recommend uploading it to Google Drive and sharing the link with us instead. Please make sure to set the ‘General Access’ to 'Anyone with the link’.
Please can you supply me with the above, and I’ll send this on to them. I think they are looking for top down and bottom up images with good lighting, the video is also useful for them to problem solve the issue for you.
In the meantime I am completing the rest of the questions which they have requested from us.
Regards,
David

Hi
I ordered the stack on the 1st of October and it’s not allowing me to upload any more photos or videos as I’m a new user. So I linked all the photos and videos below.
Hi Dylan good day,
We got some good feedback from Speedybee, their engineers are pretty good and found this:
We noticed that the area circled in the picture below is suspected to be tin beads. could you please check and clean it before powering it on and try to see if there is a self-check sound?
Thanks so much for your cooperation, we really hope to resolve your issue asap.
Can you use a soft brush to try brush that out, that seems to be what is causing the issue, from what they report.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if that rectifies the issue?
Regards,
David

Hi I have given the board a brush and removed the piece from above and there is no improvement it’s exactly the same I have attached another photo and an updated video.
Thanks
Hi Dylan good day,
I have sent this through to Speedybee, explained that the board isn’t working and asked for their recommendations.
As soon as I hear back, I will let you know.
Again, I do apologies for the delay in this process.

David

Hi Dylan good day,
Following our recent lengthy correspondence with SpeedyBee, I am pleased to inform you that we have secured a replacement ESC for you at no cost.
This will be sent out to you as soon as we receive stock, this should be shortly as our shipment was due to arrive already.
SpeedyBee mentioned that the issue with the ESC was likely due to poor soldering. Our technicians echoed this sentiment, emphasising the importance of proper soldering techniques. If a similar issue arises in the future, it will be near impossible for us to secure another free replacement for you.
Soldering is a skill that improves with practice, and I have found that working on old, broken boards has significantly enhanced my own soldering and wiring techniques. To assist you in improving your skills, I have linked two videos below that have been particularly helpful for me:

While opinions on Mr. Steele may vary, his expertise as a pilot and FPV enthusiast is undeniable.
I hope these resources prove useful to you as they have for me.
