Order Number: UT-714969
Product Name: Happymodel Mobula6 2024 Elrs 2.4ghz Bnf Brushless Whoop
Brand: HappyModel
The drone initially flew well, but then, from one flight to another after a battery change, started flying uncontrollably backwards and to the left. After some troubleshooting, the drone now flies uncontrollably upwards.
No settings had changed, so we checked the propellors and motors (which were fine) and re-flashed the firmware (including ESC) in case something had corrupted. After restoring settings and trouble shooting a load of issues (e.g. no video caused by telemetry switched off, motors not arming because PID frequency was different from Gyro frequency?) it now flies uncontrollably straight upwards (this appears to be called ‘runaway throttle?’) but we are unable to prevent this from happening. This drone appears to just be broken or misconfigured in some way we cannot determine despite spending hours trying to return it to how it flew before it suddenly stopped working properly.
Hi good day,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Sorry to hear you are battling with your Mob.
It sounds like a physical issue to me, but it could be a number of possibilities.
Is the frame cracked of broken anywhere, of is the FC mounting broken or is the FC loose on the frame?
Do the motors get hot very quickly?
Would you be able to send me a short video demonstrating the issue, so I can try identify the issue?
Hope this helps.
If there is anything else I can help with please do let me know?
Regards,
David

Hi,
Thank you for getting back to me - the frame is not cracked of broken anywhere, The FC mounting isn’t broken or loose on the frame. The motors do heat up but I don’t know if that is the issue. Essentially at this point we would really like to return this drone for a refund. Is that possible? - I included a video in my original enquiry but am attaching it again.
I look forward to hearing from you
Rosie

Hi there
We tried the latest version of Blujay (as per the happy model website) for the main firmware and the motor controllers (ESCs?), and then flashed it back to the original version to see if a bug in the latest firmware was causing the issues.
This didn’t work
Thanks
Rosie

Hi, please can you try to flash the following firmware and once done, load the attached CLI dump file for the Mobula6. Make sure you flash Betaflight 4.5.1.
Dump file for betaflight 4.5 Mobula6 2024_ICM42688P .txt (24.3 KB)
If you need some help on how to flash firmware, we have a guide here you can refer to - How to install/Flash Betaflight Firmware (GUI or DFU Mode)
